My World Cup prediction: It will be Argetina!
I took 5 min of my time to predict the winner of the FIFA World Cup 2010
The World Cup is exciting, isn't it? Maybe a tiny bit less exciting since my home country Slovenia didn't move on to the round of 16, nevertheless, there are some promising matches coming up already in the next few days: Germany - England, Spain - Portugal and Argentina - Mexico. These games will really be battles, you can be sure. I'm really looking forward to England and Germany and I'm rooting for England. I'd really like to see them come at least to the quarter finals. But then again, here's a table of the upcoming games. I wrote my predictions for the next games and for all the other possible games and I came to the conclusion, that the final game will be between the Netherlands and Argentina and the latter will become football champions of the world.

Some of the results surprised me, because I tried to base my decision on the teams' performances so far and who might be in better form or may have a bit more luck this time. I may be completely wrong or I may be right in some parts. We'll see :-)
Who do you think will become the winner of the World Cup 2010?

Havent been keeping up with footy much of late so dont know too much about who is good anymore. Brazil will lose to holland? Also dont count England out against Argentina. We have history with them so we will be up for it (assuming we beat the germans)!!

@Prometheus: Well, I think Argentina is much better than England this time. While England had to win Slovenia to barely qualify, they won 3 times without problems. I can hardly imagine anyone beating Argentina before the finals.

I dont think current form matters in a one off game to be honest.

it's gonna be interesting as the giants are fighting against each other at a very early stage. i'd love to see the underdogs battling in the final. say... slovakia v chile lol

Brazil FTW! Hehehehe...
LOL @ stilleto...that would be cool too...;p

@Prometheus: Well, this is purely speculative and just for fun. I don't take this too serious. Football is very unpredictable, I'm sure I will be wrong many times :)
@Ejann: Hehe.. we'll see :)
@Jo: I used to be a Brazil fan, but they need to yet convince me this time :)
@Amogh: There's a link at the bottom of my post "Table source". Follow the source and find the table on Wikipedia. I did a print screen, cropped it in Photoshop and then wrote my own predictions inside.
@Sweta: Agree. You're welcome :)

Hi! Nice to see a fellow Slovenian blogger online :)
I don't think that Gana is going to make it to semi-finals and even more that they will beat Spain! I think Spain is really strong this year. But I like where you're going with Netherlands. They are really good! And in my opinion Argentina won't make it to the finals because of the team manager (he's more of a legend than a tactics professional). But most of all I hope that we'll see some great football matches! :)
Greetings from Slovenia ;)

i agree about England beating Germany 2-1 but not about us losing to Argentina!
and you think Holland will beat Brazil? i'm not so sure about that one...this years world cup is dangerously unpredictable and great fun to watch!
June 26, 2010 10:04 PM
@Črt: I think Spain is overrated. Like they lost against Switzerland, they may lose against Argentina. Torres is in no shape, totally lost. I think Argentina has the best cards this year. But we'll see :)
@adamantixx: Well, you have to admit, both Germany and Argentina will be tough to beat. Especially Argentina. I think they're in best form, they'll go all the way to the finals. I think Brazil will have problems, Holland can beat them. Sure, it's all speculation :) I'm not sure, if I will guess it right, but I guessed right today: Uruguay beat South Korea like I predicted :)
June 27, 2010 12:32 AM
No way will Brazil and Germany be kicked of so soon.
June 27, 2010 1:51 AM
@Harini: We'll see ^^
Day 1 and both of my prediction were right, hehe. I hope I'm right tomorrow :)
June 27, 2010 7:05 AM
your predictions are going very well so far and i hope they continue today!
i still think Brazil have added great defensive strength to their flair while Argentina's defence is very shaky...Mexico might just surprise them.
June 27, 2010 8:02 PM
Those boxes you drew I already confused... I don't know which one to vote :D
Is Brazil out already??? I thought Brazil is strong!
June 27, 2010 8:34 PM
@adamantixx: I totally underestimated Germans. I thought England would be mentally strong enough.. they weren't. The defense was in shambles, I was shocked. It's a pity. I hope Argentina, if they can beat Mexico tonight, can beat Germany next week. If they can't, I think nobody can.
@Netster: Brazil is strong, yeah, hehe.
June 28, 2010 1:42 AM
See, see Germany won \:D/. I was so right \:D/
June 28, 2010 2:00 AM
hope you're right... cause i got money on them :P
why you have so many blogs... i dont have time to even maintain one now...
June 29, 2010 8:32 PM
Argentina has been phenomenal. They really just might win.
June 30, 2010 4:49 AM
@Harini: Yes, you were right. Only mistake I made so far :P
@Zewt: Ah, all of them are for me one website, they're interconnected and it doesn't matter for me which one I update :)
@Nashe: Yes, true. Go Argentina :)
