October is here! Hope lives on.

October
And the trees are stripped bare
Of all they wear
What do I care
October
And kingdoms rise
And kingdoms fall
But you go on

by Bono Vox, U2 (Video)

September is over! Finally. And what can I say, it was one of the best months of this year for me. It hasn't been so good since my trip to Hong Kong in January and the Chinese new year celebrations in Malaysia soon after, with the countless sleepless nights playing mahjong. After I returned back to Europe, things have gone pretty bad and the hardest part was the break up. I needed few months to find some meaning in my life. I blogged a lot, tweeted a lot and at least it helped me to ease my pain. It was totally therapeutic, but it worked. And then came September, a month to remember. I found my happiness again. I felt special again, valuable and needed again. It's not as if my whole circumstances changed, basically I am in the same position as I was before. The only difference is, my views shifted. I am positive. I have hopes and dreams. I believe in love again. I have ambitions. I want to travel, learn, evolve. I want to experience so much and I feel confident in achieving all the goals I set for myself in September. And now it's October. And I feel it can only get better. Maybe the beginning and the end of this year will make it up for the horrible in-between time, that made my life so difficult this year. I am hopeful.

How was your 2009 so far?

My 2009 has been all about growing up and accepting responsibilities. No longer can I be happy go lucky and float through life on the backs of others, I am learning to stand on my own and it can be difficult at times but very liberating!

@Jamaipanese: Oh, that's great to hear. So it's a kind of year of change for you. Excellent.

Mine has been skint. Not good. Decided to go to New York for a wedding in October. That's logical, considering the above, isn't it?

@scaryazeri: Judging from your blog (I'm following few months only), you seemed to be doing fine. Having lots of funny encounters and moments. But who am I judging a blogger's life by her blog :) Hope things get better. New York supposed to be beautiful in the fall. Maybe it's a new beginning for you.

A lot can be said about my 2009 and many might say that it had been my worst year ever. But in reality, this is the year I actually LIVED!

Getting up again and wanting to take control of your life fully again are great feelings. Good for you!

2009 for me is a mixed year. Many confusion, sadness, anger and tears. Stress is experienced almost daily but when something good happens, it's really good. I'm in emotional rollercoaster but since I've done the whole breaking down, stressing out phase..I'm trying to handle myself better.

I can't find a single part of 2009 that I really liked. The small happy stuff don't make up for all the major shit. I wish I was in a fucking coma throughout these 10 months. We'll see how the year ends for me.

My 2009 seems goes so fast, I still remebered the colder weather in the Chinese New Year, and suddenly it's October now. Wow, time flies...
My worst year is 2008, so when the year came to 2009, I felt relax, and glad that I could have my simple life again.
But, September also become special to me in 2009, maybe 2009 is a fate year.

@Jerine: Thank you.

@The Demigoddess: Yes, sometimes pain makes us feel alive. Besides, we met me this year, that's also something :-)

@Andhari: Well, whenever I read your posts, I have the feeling that you are strong and in charge. But yeah, we can't always blog every single thing we feel, right? I always think, that good things are meant to happen to you. Be confident! You're a great girl.

@Nashe^: :'-( I hope you still have a great finish in December and maybe you can draw a line and start over come Jan 1. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

@Deeptesh: Again, you haven't read my post. That poem is a song from the Irish rock band U2. The singer Bono Vox wrote it, not me. If you check blogs when you have time, why don't you comment then? That's a weak argument. Seems like you're promoting your poems on every blog I know, you comment within 15 seconds. I'm not the only one who noticed.

Anyway, to each his own. Wish you good luck with your poems, my mate :-)

@LilyChen: Yes, it passed fast! I can't believe the end is here. But I'm happy, because I have high hopes for 2010. Glad to hear your September was special, too.

This post is far more lively and interesting than most of the end of year letters I receive with greetings cards. Good for you!

October is an in-between month, though perhaps where I live it is not as obviously so, as it might be in gentler climates. We already feel the nip of Winter, our daylight hours are shrinking, yet the few deciduous trees we have still hold on to their foliage. You can see the greenery is less abundant. Grass is not growing so quickly. And as for me, I am beginning to wear thicker and warmer clothes.

@ZACL: Hehe, thanks. Yes, it's same here, our climates are not gentler in Slovenia. So I can relate to you. I feel same now.. soon will be winter. Spending last whole winter in tropial Malaysia, this is my 1st winter in 2 years :-) So not used to it, hehe..

This month would be terribly busy :( You know, I've passed this year very quickly with many stuffs - travel, study, exams, accidents etc etc. But I'm sure that this year wouldn't be regretful to me. I did my best. What about you?

@Hwan: Oh, yeah, you had a crazy year with so many things. And we met! :) Well, as for October, I don't know. Hope it'll be as good as September. I don't have any other expectations.

@Manju: Thank you! :) And happy to find another fan of U2. I have all their albums and I'm a fan since 1997 :) I'll try to be postive these few remaining months. You know, you may find anything you want in UK, but Slovenia is small, so we don't have a lot of Asian things here :(

@Manju: Wow, thanks, you are too kind. Yes, we have Asians here, too. Mostly Chinese. But still, only few. In supermarkets there's a tiny department of maybe 3 sorts of cup-noodles, hehe. It's beautiful, yes. If you happen to come here, you have a friend ;)
