Amy Star about hostile people online

My friend Amy Star left a great comment on my blog and I am reposting it here:

"I think that people who are generally hostile online feel powerless in their lives and use the anonymity of the internet to lash out at strangers, because they feel unable to deal with the people they know. Like that troll you mentioned on Twitter today: I'm sure that individual envies anything good in others' lives (like your blog) and tries to trash it. It's a misguided attempt to make her/himself feel better by trying to make others feel worse. These people don't realize that happiness isn't a zero sum game: more happiness for one doesn't necessarily mean less happiness for another. In fact, happiness and love breed more happiness and love. Love is so much more powerful than fear."

She makes good points, right?

True. Sadly, some trolls can even persist for months.

I'm so glad people are liking what I had to say. Thank you all. Just so you know in case you do end up checking out my blog: It's a series of pornographic scenarios. I think they're fun, but people might not be expecting that based on what is posted here.

Online is a place where you can be anyone you wnat to be.

Between you and me, my real identity is B. Obama. I'm just blogging under another identity when I'm stressed up at work. You know, politics can be a pain sometimes.

I think Amy is a very cool woman and her blog may not be what most of you guys call a blog, but who doesn't wanna read some juicy hot stories from time to time? Besides, Amy is special, because my blog is the only blog she follows :)

See, Nino (Is that right? It seems to me I've seen others refer to you as "Nino."), you're good at the whole promoting-yourself-while-promoting-someone-else thing, too! ;-) Hope I helped you hit the 20,000 mark on hits to your "lil bloggy." Me, I'm getting very close to the 3,000 mark. (But I haven't been blogging as long as you have.) And I do write non-pornographic blogs as well. I make them available for public viewing briefly and then make them only viewable by my myspace friends. As you know, I've posted some non-pornographic blogs on tumblr as well, but I haven't added much to my tumblr blog. My interest in blogging comes and goes. I'm doing NaNoWriMo in November (writing a 50,000 word novel in one month!), so I won't have as much time for blogging during that time period. By the way, thanks for putting me on your first Twitter List. I don't think I'm gonna do Lists myself. I use Brizzly which gives the option of creating Groups, which seems like the same thing as Twitter Lists.

Yes, you guessed my name right, Amy :) Hehe.. well, honestly, I get so many people lately, because I posted pics of lovely girls/women and somehow Google directs them to my blog. Sometimes I write a good post, yet Google doesn't get me any new readers, hehe. That's how it is ;) Ah, those lists are just nothing special. I'd probably have only 1 list for my closest twiens, but the main stream is enough for me. I follow less than 100 people so far, so it's still transparent. Hope to see you again on my blog :)

I just hit 4000 viewings on my blog! Yea! And like you, I'm aware that sex sells! When I first joined myspace, I expected to get people reading my blog, but few did. But now that I write sexy blogs, I easily get 100-200 viewers each day I promote it on Twitter.

Good job, Amy! I'm sure your blog will grow and you'll get more readers thru time and thru more updates. And I'm sure some of them will Google your name and come to this post here :) Good luck.

Very well put by your friend. Have you had issues with people talking shit here??

The only point where I don't agree with her, is her last. I might wish love was more powerful then fear but I think they are more equal. Think about how many actions whic are motivated by fear compared to which are motivated by love? I think they even each other out.

No, I haven't had any trouble and if I had these kind of people on my blog, I'd laugh about them, hehe. Just liked Amy's comment, that's all. I'd let Amy answer your comment about love and fear :)

Thanks, Nino. And I just want to add that I do realize that the attention I get via Twitter and Myspace is merely a substitute for attention from one special person!

Regarding love vs fear: It's not a matter of how often people are motivated by one or the other. It's a matter of the nature of love vs the nature of fear. Believe me, I've spent most of my life motivated by fear, but in recent years I've been turning that around and I'm much more motivated by love now. See if this clarifies my meaning further: fear is based in weakness; love is based in strength. A person can certainly be powerfully motivated by fear, but that fear is a weakness. When a person is powerfully motivated by love, that love is a strength. What is often required to move from fear to love is a leap of faith. And I still say that love is a more powerful force than fear, regardless of all the expressions of fear I see in the world around me. One powerful key to moving from fear to love is to have a meditation practice. There are so many different ways to meditate; everyone can find one that suits their needs.
