1 Is soup food or drink?
2 Are socks clothes or shoes?
3 Is Australia a continent or an island?
4 Are fish swimming or diving?
5 Is Twitter a curse or a blessing?
6 Are men the weaker or the stronger sex?
7 Is god christian or muslim?
These are some random questions that troubled me today. Can anyone answer at least one of them and explain to me, because I am not very bright. Thank you :)

To me, Soup = food. Nobody actually orders a meal and orders soup to wash it down. Socks are clothing. Australia is a hugeass island that turned into a continent. Fish are swimming. Twitter is a blessing, though I don't use it. Men are designed to be physically stronger. God has no religion.
My opinion.

Let me challenge you :)
I order soup and wash it down like a cup of coffee :P I think Australia is an island and we called continent, because we rather say "Australia is the smallest continent" instead of "Australia is the biggest island!" That sound possible, right? :)
I saw fish diving, too. I didn't mention phisical strength. How can you really know if God has a religion? What if he also needs to believe in something? We will never know, won't we?
Excellent points u made, Nashe^! I am impressed :)

1. That really depends on what part of the world you're in. In the West, I would say that soup is most definitely not a drink. It's a food. But, soups in the West are usually heavier than soups in Southeast Asia. The soups here are more like a clear broth, sometimes accompanied by a sprinkle of chopped green onion if you're lucky. It's served with most meals from hawker stalls, and I often see people eating their meal and washing it down with the soup, as they have no beverage. I always get a separate canned drink to go with my meal, but I wonder how that's perceived by locals?
2. Socks are clothes.
3. Australia? It's a big island.
4. Fish don't swim, they float around.
5. Twitter is both.
6. Men are designed to be stronger, but women are more tolerant to pain. Go figure.
7. God doesn't concern himself with distinctions like that. If he did, he wouldn't be God.

Let me challenge you :)
1 So soup can be both, I agree. Cuz I drank and ate soup, then it has to be both.
2 I think this is the toughest one. Because you have very thick socks in some cultures, that are used like shoes are used here... So I'm not sure about this one.
3, 5 agree, agree.
4 Fish don't float, unless they are dead. They swim and dive, both I guess. But mostly dive.
6 Men are weak! (except me!)
7 How do you know what God concerns himself with? I guess he doesn't concern himself with famine, war and child abuse in the Church (he coul'd have prevented it, if he were almighty, right?) You say "If he did, he wouldn't be God." I wonder what's your definition of God, because there's no universally accepted definition or image or idea of god.

Let me add to your confusion:
Is tomato a fruit or vege?
Are biscuits and cookies the same?
Butter and margerine which is better?
July 20, 2009 7:27 PM
Jerine, these are hard ones:
1 Tomato is fruit, I think.
2 I think cookies are small and thin, biscuits can be bigger, but they're probably in the same family.
3 We susually eat margarine here, so I'm down for that.

i agree with Nashe on every answer except:
Twitter is a curse, i find it pointless and irritating.
men are physically stronger but i think females are the stronger sex overall.
July 21, 2009 1:14 AM
@adamantixx, yes, I think women are the stronger sex, they chose, while we court.
As for Nashe^, she's very intellingent, no wonder people agree with her :)

u sure u dunno the answer for number 6? :P
July 21, 2009 9:39 PM
@zewt, I know, but I won't tell you :P
July 22, 2009 2:37 AM
Men are the weaker sex, dude. Sorry to break it to you. :)
July 22, 2009 1:24 PM
@Crankster, I know :) But shhhh... don't say it out loud, I got so many women reading my blog :P

1, 2, 3, 4: Words have loose definitions, we use them to describe the world and the world doesn't necessarily fall into neat categories.
5. Twitter being a curse or a blessing is a subjective thing.
6. I suspect men have more potential to be physical strong than women do. As far as emotional strength... I doubt there's any difference between sexes.
7. There's no god, silly.
July 23, 2009 4:30 PM
@jwbraith, this wasn't meant very seriously, only the last question was.
You are wrong with number 7. First of all, you come accross very shallow with the 'silly' remark. Secondly, the right answer is:
"There most probably is no god."
Read Dawkins and other atheist thinkers, nobody will say "There's no god".
